The exuberant and textural 2025 Salus Chardonnay abounds with perfumed white flowers and generous yellow fruits. Spiced lemon verbena aromatics yield to a purposeful entry cut with Eureka lemons that meld more towards vanilla infused ripe Meyers and toothy pineapple that effuse notes of nutmeg, exuberances of allspice and hints of galangal as it slides across your palate on a delightful current of oak framed salinity that provides nice length and persistence.

The 2025 growing season will be remembered as a cooler, pretty mellow, balanced and almost easy year that avoided many of the extremities that can sometimes challenge growers here in Napa. A bone-dry start to the year thankfully gave way to a torrential February that fully charged the soil profile and set the vines up for a good budbreak and early season growth. Additional rains to close out March and bridge into mid-April allow for great early season canopy development when the sun returned and warmed up in May. A steady though cool-ish summer with delightfully ample morning fog allowed for slower ripening and great, balanced flavor development. These generally moderate conditions continued through most of August and September gave us a great harvest window to pick exactly when we wanted to instead of when Mother Nature dictated, with the few exceptions being our cooler sited fruit sources in Carneros that experienced a little rain towards the tail end of their ripening arc.
